The Toronto Blue Jays have agreed to terms with INF Justin Turner on a one-year contract (US $13,000,000).

Turner, 39, appeared in 146 games for the Boston Red Sox in 2023, hitting .276 with 31 doubles, 23 home runs, and 96 RBIs. The Long Beach, Calif., native was selected by the Reds in the seventh round of the 2006 First-Year Player Draft, eventually making his Major League debut for the Orioles in 2009.

Over the course of 15 big league seasons and 1,539 MLB games, the 5-foot-11, 208-pound right-handed hitter owns a .288 batting average and an .828 OPS with 323 doubles, nine triples, 187 home runs, and 759 RBIs.

Turner has twice been named an All-Star (2017 and 2021), was the NLCS MVP in 2017, and won a World Series title with the Dodgers in 2020. In addition to his on-field success, the 39-year-old has been nominated for the Roberto Clemente Award on five occasions, winning the prestigious award in 2022.
