Bombers snap Dawgs' winning streak

The Okotoks Dawgs lost 9-8 in 10 innings to the Brooks Bombers on Wednesday night at Seaman Stadium.

The Dawgs, whose season record fell to 20-9, failed to hold on to the lead in the eighth and ninth innings.

Offensively, the Dawgs scored eight runs on 13 hits and six walks. Steven Elsner (Bellevue University) led the way, going 3-for-5 with a solo home run and three RBIs. Kadyn Williams (Pittsburg State University) added two hits and a walk.

On the mound, Austin Eaton (Texas State University) allowed just two runs, while striking out five in five innings, in his third start of the season.

Anderson Tordiffe (Surrey, B.C.) followed with two scoreless innings in relief.

Frank Flores (Colorado State University - Pueblo), Alex Oliver (Colorado State University - Pueblo), and Easton Corey (Linn Benton Community College) also toed the rubber for the Dawgs.

The Dawgs will now hit the road for a two-game series against the Swift Current 57s.
