Tyler Boudreau (Sylvan Lake, Alta.) was masterful for Midland College last week.

Given the ball to open their series against Clarendon, Boudreau threw a seven-inning no-hitter. He issued a walk and struck out four to pick up the win.

No-no’s are nothing new to Boudreau as he threw one last summer as a member of the Sylvan Lake Gulls in a 16-0 win over the Weyburn Beavers in a Western Canadian Baseball League game.

Accomplishing the feat can be stressful enough, but Boudreau needed to be great to simply win the game.

The Chaparrals offence mustered just two runs in the 2-0 victory.

The start set the tone for the rest of the series as his team would go on to take three of four and are now 25-6 on the season.

The Vauxhall Academy grad has made nine appearances in 2023, eight of which have been starts. He’s put together a 7-1 record with a 3.38 ERA and 39 strikeouts in 45 1/3 innings.
