BRADENTON, Florida – A fifth-inning rain delay ended up bringing the Friendship Series to a premature close as both Canada and the United States settled for a 1-1 tie in game seven of the seven-game series.
Louka Daoust (Repentigny, Que.) blasted a solo home run in the first inning to give Canada an early lead before the US responded with an Elijah Green two-out triple in the third that saw him score the tying run on a wild pitch.
Turner Spoljaric (Lisle, Ont.) worked three innings on the mound allowing the one run on two hits while striking out two, and Chase Marshall (Surrey, BC) tossed a scoreless inning in the fourth with on strikeout.
Robin Villeneuve (Gatineau, Que.) and Cam Gurney (Scotland, Ont.) also recorded hits.
