Cazorla, Crowson, Selzer spur Dawgs past Gulls

The Okotoks Dawgs defeated the Sylvan Lake Gulls 5-3 on Saturday night to extend their win streak to six games.
The Dawgs scored all of their runs in the first inning, while pitching and defence was able to keep Gulls quiet, as the Dawgs improved to 28-7 on the season.
Graham Seltzer (Vancouver, B.C.) started the game and tossed 4 2/3 innings, allowing five hits and four strikeouts to earn his third win of the season. The Dawgs got some relief help from Rylan Penner (Blumenort, Man.), Brody Forno (Okotoks, Alta.), Quinn Tocheniuk (Okotoks, Alta.) and Cade Hermann before All-Star pitcher Ryan McFarland (Calgary, Alta.) shut the door on a Gulls’ rally in the ninth to earn the save.
The Dawgs’ offence was led by Connor Crowson (Okotoks, Alta.) and Alejandro Cazorla (Okotoks, Alta.) who both had two RBIs. Caleb Lumbard (Regina, Sask.) extended his hitting streak to three games and also added an RBI.
The Dawgs will return to Seaman Stadium to take on the Swift Current 57’s for the first game of a three-game homestand.
