Official Okotoks Dawgs News Release

The Okotoks Dawgs were defeated 9-1 by the Lethbridge Bulls on Wednesday night.

The Dawgs opened the scoring in the fifth and lost the lead in the second half of the game, surrendering six runs in the seventh inning.

The Dawgs’ record stands at 32-12, and they remain first in the WCBL’s west division.

Brady Baltus started on the mound and tossed five innings, recording five strikeouts and allowing only two earned runs in the contest. Relief efforts from Connor Robbins (Calgary, Alta.), Seth Thompson (Calgary, Alta.), Sam Stuhr, Ryan McFarland (Calgary, Alta.), and Brody Forno (Okotoks, Alta.) could not contain the Bulls’ offence after Baltus was replaced.

The Dawgs’ offence was led by Jake Hoskins who went 1-4 and drove in the only run for the Dawgs. Alejandro Cazorla (Okotoks, Alta.) went 2-for-4 on the night, and was the only Dawg with multiple hits.

The Dawgs could not generate any momentum on offence as they lost their 12th game of the season.

The Dawgs will return home to Seaman Stadium on Thursday for a matchup with the Edmonton Prospects.
