Andrew Albers (North Battleford, Sask.) has been pitching pro ball since 2008, including the past three seasons with Orix Buffaloes in Japan’s Western League. When the opportunity arose to return home, he re-signed with the Minnesota Twins and was assigned to their affiliate St. Paul Saints at triple A-East. This week on Aug. 15, in what most would consider his best outing of the season in an 8-0 win over the Indianapolis Indians, he pitched eight innings gave up only four base hits and zero runs while striking out five to earn his sixth win of the year. His record with St. Paul Saints in 16 Triple A starts, now stands at 6-4 with a 3.86 ERA. For his efforts, he was called up by the Twins on August 20.
