Crowell, Grant, Stewart homer to lead Dawgs to win

The Okotoks Dawgs defeated the Brooks Bombers 9-7 on Friday night.

The Dawgs recorded 16 hits and have registered 15 or more hits in three consecutive games. Their record improves to a WCBL-leading 29-9.

Offensively, Nash Crowell (Yarmouth, N.S.), Logan Grant (Chestermere, Alta.) and Conner Stewart homered for the Dawgs, while Alejandro Cazorla (Okotoks, Alta.) went 1-for-4 with two RBIs.

On the mound, Garrett Maloney allowed four runs in 1 1/3 innings, while striking out four. The Dawgs then employed five relievers, who combined to permit just two wins, to preserve the win.

Up next is the WCBL All-Star game at Seaman Stadium on Saturday. The Home Run Derby is set for 5:00 p.m. followed by the West vs. East Game at 7:05 p.m.
