The Okotoks Dawgs lost 4-3 to the Swift Current 57s on Friday night at Mitchell Field.
With the loss, the Dawgs’ record dropped to 21-10 on the season, but they remain in first place in the West Division standings, two-and-a-half games clear of the Lethbridge Bulls and Sylvan Lake Gulls.
Offensively, Kadyn Williams (Pittsburg State University) went 2-for-3 with a walk for the Dawgs, while Zane Skansi (Campbellsville University) belted a two-run home run
On the mound, Jayden Bahl (Bossier Parish Community College) started and allowed just one run in four innings, while striking out five.
Chase Tucker (Mount Pearl, Nfld.) contributed 2 1/3 scoreless innings in relief. He was followed by Anderson Tordiffe (Surrey, B.C.) who struck out two batters in a quick three-up three-down eighth.
The Dawgs now head home to battle the Brooks Bombers at Seaman Stadium on Saturday. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
