Dawgs win seventh straight

Okotoks, Alta. - The Okotoks Dawgs defeated Swift Current 7-5 on Sunday afternoon, extending their win streak to seven games.
The Dawgs were led by solid pitching and a strong offence, establishing a lead they would not give up.
The Dawgs’ improve to 29-8 on the season, and sit atop the west division in first place.
David Case earned his second win of the season, tossing five innings, allowing one earned run, and finishing with seven strikeouts. The Dawgs got some relief help from Sam Stuhr, Connor Robbins (Calgary, Alta.), Bode Brooks and Seth Thompson (Calgary, Alta.), who all worked to protect the Dawgs’ lead.
The Dawgs’ offence was led by Ricky Sanchez who went 4-for-4 with two runs, and two RBIs. Mason Guerra finished with two RBIs on his only hit of the afternoon. Tucker Zdunich (High River, Alta.) also had one hit, one walk and scored two runs as the Dawgs head into their off-day victorious.
The Dawgs will return to action Tuesday night to begin a two-game homestand.
