Ontario Terriers alumni were back out making a difference for their college teams last week.
Carey records two saves
Liam Carey made three appearances for the Muskingum University Muskies down in Fort Myers, Fla. Carey threw two scoreless innings and allowed two hits in a 6-3 loss to Saint John's. In his next appearance, he recorded his first save of the year by throwing three scoreless innings against Hiram. He gave up one hit, walked one and struck out two in the 5-1 victory. The third appearance of the week for the right-hander ended in his second save. He worked three scoreless innings, walked one and punched out two in a 21-9 win over Haverford.
Giorno, Johnson perform well for Adrian
A pair of former Terriers played pivotal roles in Adrian College's two games last week.
Andrew Giorno picked up his second win of the season with 2 2/3 scoreless innings of relief in a 14-4 win over Greensboro. He allowed one hit and struck out three.
Dylan Johnson supplied plenty of offence for the Bulldogs. He had five hits, including a double and a triple, and drove in two.
Terriers start for Frontier
Games 1 and 3 of Frontier Community College's series with Kaskaskia were started by Matt Brown and Andrew Wojtarowicz, respectfully.
Brown lasted five innings and surrendered four runs on seven hits, with a walk and four strike outs in a 10-9 loss.
Wojtarowicz conceded three runs (two earned) on two hits over 5 1/3 innings. He walked five and struck out eight in a 6-3 loss.
Job hits for Hilbert
Brandon Job collected three hits and drove in three in four games played for Hilbert College. The Hawks went 2-5 on the week.
Ward works his way on in Purple Eagles win
Due to inclement weather the Niagara University Purple Eagles were only able to play one of their three games against Bucknell over the weekend. Matt Ward had a hit and a walk in the game as Niagara walked away with an 8-5 win.
Earle continues stellar season
Lucas Earle hurled three innings of one run ball for Allan Hancock in their 13-11 loss to Oxnard. The southpaw scattered three hits, walked two, and struck out three. Earle is 1-0 with a save and a 3.72 ERA over 19 1/3 innings this season.
Ellis makes two starts
Lefty Campbell Ellis made a pair of starts for the VCU Rams. The first came against No. 22 Maryland when he pitched two innings and allowed two runs on three hits with a walk and a strikeout. He was back out on the mound against Monmouth later in the week and he held the Hawks scoreless over 3 2/3 innings. The former Ontario Youth Team arm surrendered two hits, a walk and struck out three in a 3-0 win.
O'Halloran hands Louisville an L
Connor O'Halloran allowed four runs (two earned) over four innings to earn the win in a 16-7 victory over Louisville. He yielded five hits, a walk, and struck out eight. The win moves O'Halloran's record to 1-2.
O'Halloran continues to hit
Connor can pitch and Ryan can hit. Sounds like a productive offseason workout partner. Ryan O'Halloran put together three hits, worked two walks, and drove in a run in three games for Butler. The Bulldogs defeated North Florida 12-6 before outlasting Western Illinois 8-5 and 9-5.
Giberson strikes out two
Ryan Giberson spun a scoreless inning with a pair of punch outs in Belmont Abbey's 4-3 loss to Coker.
