Busy week for Braves' Bedasse as World Series returns to Atlanta
Before the 2021 World Series began ball fans knew about the Canadian connections with the Atlanta Braves.
Let’s see: there were players RHP Mike Soroka (Calgary, Alta.) and 1B Freddie Freeman (Fountain Valley, Calif.), who is WBC eligible due to the fact his parents are both Canadian; as well as president, baseball operations and general manager Alex Anthopoulos (Montreal, Que.), assistant trainer Mike Frostad (Calgary, Alta.); minor leaguers: RHP Indigo Diaz (North Vancouver, BC) and LHP Adam Shoemaker (Cambridge, Ont.); Michael Saunders (Victoria, BC), manager, class-A Augusta GreenJackets, David Chavarria (Burnaby, BC), rehab pitching co-ordinator and Michael Copeland (Whitby, Ont.), developer and data architect.
Since the first pitch of Game 1, we have discovered Danielle Bedasse (Halifax, NS) is the Braves director of community affairs & executive director of the Atlanta Braves Foundation; Carolyn Serra (Ottawa, Ont.), senior director, Ballpark Tours, Braves Heritage & Hall of Fame and minor league executive and Robbie Burnstein (Oakville, Ont.), account executive, corporate partnerships at triple-A Gwinnett.
And this week was a busy one for Bedasse, who was the former executive director, of Jays Care Foundation from 2007 to 2014, as the World Series returned to Atlanta for the first time since 1999.
