Terriers graduates put their talents on full display last week for their college teams.
Worthen earns save, Nash makes appearance
D'Youville summoned Sam Worthen from the bullpen in their contest against Staten Island and he threw 4 1/3 innings to pick up the save in the Saints’ 7-6 win. He allowed three runs (one earned) on two hits, with a pair of walks and a strikeout.
Kyle Nash came out of the bullpen in the second game of the doubleheader and hurled a scoreless 1/3 of an inning.
O'Halloran outstanding yet again
Connor O'Halloran (Mississauga, Ont.) was on the hill in Game 1 of Michigan's series with rival Michigan State, and he delivered. O'Halloran threw 5 2/3 innings and allowed two runs on five hits in an 18-6 Wolverine win. He walked five and struck out eight to improve to 4-2 on the season.
MacNeil throws five innings in win
Right-hander Owen MacNeil spun five scoreless innings in Charleston's 6-1 Game 4 win over Davis & Elkins. The Georgetown, Ont., native gave up three hits, walked one and punched out seven. His record now stands at 3-1.
Brown helps Bobcats tame Lincoln Trail
Matt Brown lasted six innings, giving up four runs (two earned) on three hits in Frontier's 7-6 victory over Lincoln Trail. He issued three walks and punched out six.
Seven hits in four games for Karosas
Infielder AJ Karosas pounded out seven hits, walked twice and drove in three to power the Erie Community College Kats to a 2-1-1 week. He went 3-for-4 with a RBI in a 4-3 loss to Monroe.
Freeman goes deep
Daniel Freeman swatted a solo home run and walked in Cornerstone's 6-5 loss to Concordia. He added a hit and two RBIs in a 6-5 victory over No. 23 Northwestern Ohio later in the week. His final knock came in a 10-7 win over Lawrence Tech.
Von Gemmingen with a hit
In three games, Max Von Gemmingen had a hit, four walks and a RBI for Spring Arbor.
Ellis slows Spiders offence
Campbell Ellis tossed four scoreless, hitless innings in Virginia Commonwealth University's 7-0 Game 1 loss to Richmond. The former Ontario Youth Team hurler walked one and struck out three.
Giorno, Johnson back at it for Adrian
A pair of seniors continued to contribute to the Adrian College Bulldogs success.
Andrew Giorno lasted 4 2/3 innings and scattered three runs on five hits in a 13-3 win over Albion. He walked two and struck out eight.
Offensively, Dylan Johnson supplied six hits, a walk, two RBIs and was hit by a pitch in four games.
Marriott got better as week wore on
Zach Marriott had a hit, a walk and an RBI in an 11-8 loss in Game 1 of Hendrix's series against Millsaps. In Game 2, he was 2-for-5 in a 6-5 win before closing out the series by going 3-for-4 in a 10-2 loss.
Russell does double duty for Battlers
Julian Russell first saw action on the mound for Alderson Broaddus this past week. He pitched a scoreless 2/3 of an inning with a pair of strikeouts in a 9-6 Game 1 loss to Frostburg State. He would then hop in the box and walk in a 6-0 Game 3 loss. To close out the series he contributed a hit in a 7-6 Game 4 loss.
Ward with big Game 3
A walk in Game 1 of Niagara's series with Rider was only the beginning of the production Matt Ward would provide for his team. He went 3-for-5 with an RBI in an 11-3 Game 3 win. The victory secured the 2-1 series victory for the Purple Eagles.
Gomm works his way on
Austin Gomm put together three hits, walked seven times, drove in seven and stole a base in five games for Parkland. The Cobras went 4-1, including a four-game sweep of Spoon River.
