It's a rarity: two brothers, sons of former Montreal Expos player Mark Grudzielanek, will be available in the MLB draft of amateur players in July.
Infielder Bryce Martin-Grudzielanek, 21, and pitcher Brody Martin-Grudzielanek, 17, have been heavily scouted and are expected to be taken in the draft.
Bryce was drafted by the Blue Jays in 2024 but elected not to sign and returned to USC for his final season. Bryce's mother Danielle and his agent held out for a signing bonus of $500,000 but the Jays countered with an offer of $350,000.
Brody is a fireballer out of Torrey Pines high school in San Diego.
"Pretty amazing to see the scouts showing up for Brody,'' his mother said in an interview. "He averages 10-12 strikeouts per game. He's still growing but comes in currently at 6-foot-5 and weighs 200 pounds. It's fun to watch.''
