TORONTO – The Toronto Maple Leafs, members of the Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) are pleased to announce that right-handed pitcher Mateos Kekatos has signed with Ottawa of the Frontier League for the 2021 season.
In nine games played with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2019, Kekatos recorded 20 strikeouts and 13 walks in his rookie IBL season.
This is the second IBL player to earn a contract in the Frontier League as the Welland Jackfish saw Brendon Dadson sign with Trois-Rivières.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are a member of Ontario's most elite baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
