Official Barrie Baycats News Release

BARRIE, Ont. – The Barrie Baycats are pleased to announce the return of 2023 IBL Second Team All-Star Canice Ejoh.

The 27-year-old Toronto native told Baycats general manager Josh Matlow on Monday morning that he would be coming back to Barrie for the 2024 season.

“We couldn’t be happier to have Canice back,” said Matlow. “He represents everything we embody as an organization. He is a huge piece to our puzzle!”

Ejoh batted .270 during the regular season with a Baycats’ single season record 26 stolen bases and scored 40 runs.

He would go on to hit a few clutch home runs in the playoffs, including a grand slam in Kitchener to send Barrie to the finals where he would connect on a go-ahead home run in the first game.

The home opener for the Barrie Baycats is May 16 against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
