Official Kitchener Panthers News Release
The Kitchener Panthers have re-signed outfielder, Jett Jarvis (Wyoming, Ont.).
The 19-year-old Great Lake Canadians product is currently attending McGill University where he is a member of the baseball program and is pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce degree.
The speedy outfielder had an exceptional 2021 IBL rookie season, appearing in 26 regular season games and batting .286 with 26 hits, 25 runs, 13 RBIs and nine stolen bases. His 27 walks ranked second in the league and boosted his on base percentage to .445, which ranked 12th in the circuit.
“We welcome Jett Jarvis back for his second season with the Panthers,” said Mike Boehmer, Kitchener Panthers GM. “Jett Jarvis is part of what we feel is the best young outfield in the IBL.”
Don Menard, Kitchener Panthers field manager, is also excited to have Jarvis back.
“Jett was a main part of our rebuild last year and projects to be an important piece for us for years to come. He was only a first-year junior age player and won our starting right fielder job in pre-season workouts,” said Menard. “He started in 26 of 30 games while posting a .445 on base percentage while stealing nine bases and only being caught once. He was one of the youngest players in the entire league and we see him having the potential to be an all-star caliber IBL player, to go along with our two returning young All-Star outfielders (Leader and Jacklin). He’s also a great teammate and very dedicated to helping the team win however he can”.
