Official London Majors News Release

The London Majors are pleased to announce the signing of pitcher Daniel Gore, who was a member of the 2022 IBL championship Majors squad and is looking to prove he can succeed in a larger role with the team in 2024.

Gore, who will turn 26 before Opening Day, appeared in nine regular season contests for London in 2022 – including three starts. In all, he posted a 3-2 record with a 4.32 ERA over 25 innings. He walked eight and struck out 25.

The 6-foot-6 right-hander also saw action in four postseason games that year, including winning an impressive start against Brantford in the first round of the playoffs. He’s hoping to parlay that success into a more impactful role in his return to the Majors this summer.

“Gore has the potential to be a top-level pitcher in our league,” said Roop Chanderdat, the Majors GM and field manager. “He has good stuff. And with his experience from 2022, I’m hoping for a big year from him.”

Gore, a Tecumseh, Ont., native, spent his collegiate career at Madonna University of the NAIA, playing three seasons for the Crusaders from 2019 to 2021. In a COVID-shortened 2020 season, the righty posted a 3.15 ERA in eight games (seven starts), going 4-2 with 29 strikeouts in 34 1/3 innings.

“I’m super excited to be a Major again and have the opportunity to play in front of the best fans in Ontario,” said Gore. “Some of my fondest baseball memories are from being part of the 2022 Majors team. I’m looking forward to making more memories and bringing a championship back to London.”
