Official London Majors News Release
The London Majors have re-signed slugger Cleveland Brownlee for his 13th season with the club.
Brownlee joined the Majors in 2010 from Atlanta, Ga.
The veteran slugger put up career numbers in 2022 and helped the Majors capture their second straight championship. He finished tied for first in the Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) with Majors teammate Robert Mullen with 15 home runs and topped the circuit with 52 RBIs — both were also career-highs. Brownlee also set career-highs in walks and at-bats.
“I want to leave a legacy now, not when I’m gone,” said Brownlee on why his chose to re-sign to the Majors. “I want to thank Roop and everyone involved for giving me the opportunity to play for my family, the City of London and all the kids from the inner city that people told they couldn’t make a difference.”
Majors field boss and co-owner Roop Chanderdat feels fortunate to have Brownlee back.
“It's truly an honour to coach Cleveland and have him on our team,” said Chanderdat. “Even at the later stages of his career, he continues to work at his craft to get better and help us win games. He is great with the younger players and one of my core players in the clubhouse that helps maintain the culture we have created here since my early years.”
