Official London Majors News Release
The London Majors have signed former University of Maryland D1 infielder Taylor Wright.
A senior for the University of Maryland Terrapins in 2019, Taylor (Vancouver, B.C.) started all 58 games, hitting for an average of .290 while clubbing 20 doubles (fourth most in a single season in Maryland history) and adding an additional 47 hits. Along with his exceptional hitting, Wright swiped 12 bases in 14 attempts in 2019.
"I'm excited to get back on the field and compete with the Majors in 2022,”
said Wright. “I look forward to playing in front of London's great fans and experiencing all the city has to offer."
“Taylor is a good addition to our team,” said Majors co-owner, GM and field manager Roop Chanderdat. “He is a former D1 player at the University of Maryland that put up big offensive numbers. Taylor is a versatile infielder that can play multiple spots defensively. I am looking forward to coaching Taylor and helping him continue his development. He is a big left-handed hitter that will add some punch to our line-up.”
The London Majors are a member of the Intercounty Baseball League. In 2021, they won the IBL Jack & Lynn Dominico Trophy.
