TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed corner infielder Cole Murchison.

Murchison, who is from Stouffville, Ont., will be making his IBL debut in 2024.

He is currently in his junior year at CSU Monterey Bay (NCAA Div. II) and is hitting .375 with five doubles, three home runs and 21 RBIs. Murchison transferred to CSU after spending two years at West Valley College. Prior to going to school, he played for Coach Butler for the Ontario Prospects U18 team.

“It’s important that we identify young talent and we feel Cole will fit right in and give us another quality bat while learning from our veteran team. It’s a good opportunity for him. It is also great that he has a history with Coach Butler and I see him as part of our long-term plans,” said Leafs GM Jeff Lounsbury

“I couldn’t be more excited to back playing for Toronto, where I was born and grew up,” said Murchison. “I can’t wait to play under my lifelong coach Rob Butler, who is the reason I am able to play this game at a high level.”
