The Welland Jackfish have agreed to terms with right-handed pitcher Brandon Marklund for the upcoming 2025 season.

Marklund returns to the Rose City for his second season after joining the Fish on June 9, 2024. The Port Coquitlam, B.C. native was lights out in the post-season, recording a perfect 0.00 ERA with 15 strikeouts and only three walks over 8 1/3 innings of relief.

Before joining the Jackfish, Marklund spent time with the Capitales de Québec of the Frontier League. The former Kansas City Royals prospect suited up for the club's class-A team in Lexington in 2019 posting a 0.46 ERA with 44 strikeouts and 19 walks over 39 1/3 innings of work. After the season, he played for Canada in the 2019 WBSC Premier12.

The Jackfish return to The Pond on Saturday, May 17 when they take on the Barrie Baycats.
