The Welland Jackfish have re-signed pitcher Deivy Mendez.

Mendez is a native of San Pedro, Dominican Republic and will be entering his third season with the Jackfish.

The hard-throwing righty put together a spotless 2023 season, giving up no earned runs in 27 innings with an impressive 47 strikeouts. He collected a total of 10 saves in the regular season.

Mendez continued his dominance in the Jackfish championship playoff run by striking out 13 in nine innings.

Prior to his IBL career, Mendez had stints in various MLB organizations including Tampa Bay, Detroit, San Diego and Oakland.
