Blue Jays from Away
In seven games across the Toronto Blue Jays' minor league system, the clubs went 4-3 on Friday.
Buffalo Bisons 1, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (NYY) 0
The Buffalo Bisons (61-41) got some stellar pitching to beat the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders 1-0.
Starter Casey Lawrence had a strong outing, allowing only three hits and striking out five batters through six innings. Julian Merryweather allowed a hit and struck out one in the seventh and Dany Jimenez allowed a hit and a walk with two strikeouts in the eighth. Trent Thornton struck out the side in order in the ninth.
The winning (and only) run came off the bat of Otto Lopez (Montreal, Que.) who hit a sac fly to score Kellin Deglan (Langley, B.C.) in the top of the eighth and was 1-for-3 with the RBI and a double. Forrest Wall was 2-for-4 with a stolen base and Gregory Polanco was 1-for-4.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 3, Portland Sea Dogs (BOS) 8
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats (49-52) fell 8-3 to the Portland Sea Dogs and old friend Josh Winckowski in the opener of the doubleheader on Friday.
Offensively, Vinny Capra was on the ball, going 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI. Nick Podkul was 1-for-3 with a double and a run whle Chris Bec was 1-for-3 with a run. LJ Talley was 1-for-4 and Tanner Kirwer (Sherwood Park, Alta.) walked twice with a run and a stolen base. Demi Orimoloye (Orleans, Ont.) was 1/2 with a walk.
Mike Ellenbest started, going one inning and giving up a run on three hits and a walk with one strikeout before Reilly Hovis came on and gave up seven runs on seven hits (two HRs) with two walks and three strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings. Parker Caracci pitched 2 2/3 innings and Sean Rackoski finished with a solid seventh.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 2, Portland Sea Dogs (BOS) 9
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats (49-53) were swept, losing 9-2 to the Portland Sea Dogs in the second half of their double header.
Right fielder Demi Orimoloye added two hits in the night cap, going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI while Brock Lundquist was 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI. Nick Podkul added a double, going 1-for-3 and Samad Taylor was 1-for-4. LJ Talley was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run.
Starter Johnny Barbato allowed four runs (one earned) on six hits with two walks and four strikeouts in four innings. Graham Spraker surrendered two runs on three hits (one HR) with a walk and a stirkeout in one inning and Marcus Reyes allowed three unearned runs on two hits and three walks over two innings, striking out two.

Vancouver Canadians 9, Everett AquaSox (SEA) 7
The ball was flying out of the park as the Vancouver Canadians (50-56) defeated the Everett AquaSox 9-7.
First baseman Spencer Horwitz continued his incedible run, going 4-for-5 with a home run, two doubles, three RBI and two runs. Orelvis Martinez hit his ninth with Vancouver and 28th overall, going 1-for-3 with two walks and the solo blast. Zac Cook hit his seventh with Vancouver, going 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI, two runs and a stolen base. Rafael Lantigua went deep, going 1-for-5 with a solo shot and Andres Guerra was 1-for-5. Eric Rivera hit a double, going 1-for-4 with a run.
Starter Andrew Bash went three innings and gave up two home runs of his own, allowing four runs on four hits with a walk and three strikeouts. He was followed by Alex Nolan (Burlington, Ont.) who logged five innings and gave up two runs on two hits with four walks and three strikeouts. Jol Concepcion allowed a run on a hit and three walks with one strikeout in 1/3 of an inning and Thomas Ruwe got the save, finishing the final two outs and stranding the bases loaded.

Dunedin Blue Jays 9, Palm Beach Cardinals (STL) 12
The Dunedin Blue Jays (49-57) took the Palm Beach Cardinals to 13 innings but lost 12-9 as the Cards scored five in the top of the 13th and the Blue Jays could only answer with two.
Addison Barger had a solid game, going 2-for-6 with a double, a walk, two RBI, a run and a stolen base. Leonardo Jimenez was 2-for-3 with two walks, an RBI, two runs and a stolen base whle PK Morris was 1-for-5 with two walks, an RBI and a run. Dasan Brown (Oakville, Ont.) was 1-for-6 with an RBI, a run and two stolen bases. Riley Tirotta was 1-for-5 with a walk, two RBI, a sac fly and a run. Harrison Ray was 1-for-6 with a walk and Steward Berroa was 1-for-7 with a double and an RBI. Hugo Cardona was 1-for-6 with a run and a stolen base.
Starter Nathanael Perez was roughed up, allowing five runs on four hits (one HR) and four walks with three strikeouts in four innings. Trenton Wallace walked one and allowed two hits with three strikeouts in two innings and Justin Kelly just allowed a hit in two innings, striking out two. Julian Valdez threw three innings, giving up two unearned runs on a hit and two walks with three strikeouts in three innings and Jefferson Herrera took the loss, allowing five runs (four earned) on four hits with a walk and three strikeouts in the final two innings.

FCL Blue Jays 9, FCL Tigers West 2
The FCL Blue Jays (23-21) posted a convincing victory over the FCL Tigers West, beating them 9-2.
JC Masson (Levis, Que.) had a big game, going 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBI, a run and a stolen base. Adriel Sotolongo also went deep, going 3-for-5 with two RBI and three runs. Rainer Nunez was 3-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI and a run and Gabriel Martinez was 1-for-1 with a double, a walk and a run before leaving the game for Jose Rivas who was 1-for-2 with a walk, a stolen base and a run. Juan Gonzalez was 1-for-2 with a walk, an RBI and a run while Willfrann Astudillo was 1-for-2. Andres Sosa was 1-for-1 with an RBI and Angel Del Rosario was 1-for-4 with a walk.
Jonathan Bernal started, surrendering two runs on four hits with four strikeouts in four innings before James Dykstra pitched a scoreless fifth, allowing a hit and striking out one. Kendry Rojas struck out two in two innings and Stephen Vargas walked one and struck out two in the eighth. Marc Civit struck out the side in the ninth and walked a batter.

DSL Blue Jays 11, DSL Padres 8
The DSL Blue Jays (22-13) beat the DSL Padres 11-8 on Friday.
On the offensive side, Gary David hit his first home run of the year, going 2-for-2 with a walk, three RBI and a run. Jonathan Peguero also had two hits, going 2-for-2 with an RBI. Cristian Feliz was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs and threw a runner out at second base from the outfield and Yeuni Munoz had a big game, going 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, a sac fly, three RBI and two runs. Luis Garcia was 2-for-4 with a double, a stolen base and two runs and Manuel Beltre was 1-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run. Leafar Yege was 1-for-2 with a run and Francisco Fajardo was 1-for-5 with a run.
On the mound, Sergio Carucci had a solid start, allowing a run on three hits with two walks and five strikeouts in three innings. Brahiam Jimenez only lasted 1/3 of an inning, giving up two hits, three runs (one earned) and striking out one. Keiner Leon got a blown save, allowing two inherited runners to score, allowing a hit and two walks in 1 2/3 innings, striking out one. Yondrei Rojas allowed three unearned runs on two hits with a walk and a strikeout in 2/3 of an inning and Francis Mercedes got the win, surrendering a run on a hit (one HR) with two walks and two strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings. Pedro Acosta got the save, striking out two in the ninth.
