Lumbard homers twice in Dawgs' win

The Okotoks Dawgs defeated the Lethbridge Bulls on Sunday evening by a score of 9-4.

The Dawgs’ offence came alive in the second inning and kept scoring at volume as the game progressed. The Dawgs extended their winning streak to seven games and now own a record of 40-12. With four games left, the Dawgs are looking to set a new win record before the season concludes August 6.

Graham Seltzer (Vancouver, B.C.) started on the mound and had a rough outing allowing 4 runs. Jackson Fraser (Saskatoon, Sask.) earned the win while relief efforts from Logan Rumberg (Warman, Sask.), Ryan McFarland (Calgary, Alta.) and Matt Wilkinson (Okotoks, Alta.) helped to keep the Bulls from scoring as the game progressed.

The Dawgs’ offence was led by Caleb Lumbard (Regina, Sask.) who launched two home runs in the game and finished with four RBIs. Connor Crowson (Okotoks, Alta.) had an impactful game after smashing a home run of his own and finished the game 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Alejandro Cazorla (Okotoks, Alta.) also had a multi-hit day, including a triple.

The Dawgs have Monday off before returning to Seaman Stadium on Tuesday.
