Official Ontario Blue Jays News Release
The Ontario Blue Jays are excited to announce that C Lucas Johnson (Hamilton, Ont.) has committed to further his academic and baseball career at Wright State University (NCAA DI - Dayton, OH).
Johnson joined the Ontario Blue Jays in 2016 as a 13-year-old and has grown up in the program, playing for head coaches Eddie Largy, Francis Cubos, Mike Siena, Joe Ellison and Mike Steed over his five-year OBJ career. Johnson played a pivotal role in the OBJ Collegiate Roster's run at the World Championships in Fort Myers, Fla., this past Fall.
Johnson is headed to a top-end program in the Wright State Raiders, who continue to push towards the NCAA Top 25 each year. Lucas will head to Dayton in hopes to crack the lineup in his freshman year and lead from behind the plate.
Johnson will be the third Ontario Blue Jays player to attend Wright State University.
