OTTAWA - Baseball Canada would like to announce that LHP Ben Onyshko (Winnipeg, Man.) has been added to Canada's roster for the upcoming World Baseball Classic.
Onyshko replaces RHP Nick Pivetta (Victoria, BC) who has withdrawn from participating in the tournament.
Onyshko has spent four seasons in the Seattle Mariners organization and pitched at double-A Arkansas in 2022 where he made 43 relief appearances, compiling a 3-2 record with a 4.36 ERA.
He represented Canada in 2021 at the WBSC Baseball Americas Olympic Qualifier.
