WCBL adopts pace of play rules

New pace-of-play rule changes have been approved by the Western Canadian Baseball League for the 2025 season. The rules were enacted at the WCBL Board of Governors annual meetings, which were held in Saskatoon on Dec. 6 and 7.

Estey: Skidd where he belongs -- in NB Baseball Hall

“One of the most well-liked and respected coaches in provincial sandlot history has finally taken his rightful place in the New Brunswick Baseball Hall of Fame.

Former Saint John Alpines bench boss Mike Skidd was formally inducted into the hall at an event in Fredericton. Skidd was the coach of the Alpines from 1992 to 2003 and under his guidance they won five NB Senior League Championships (1993, 1994, 1996, 2000 and 2001). “

McFarland: Regina Dusters’ upcoming trip to Cuba “bigger than baseball”

“It is shaping up to be an experience the Regina Dusters won’t soon forget.

Created in 2020 to help give kids the chance to play baseball for a while longer, the Dusters have traveled to Las Vegas and Arizona for winter tournaments in the past.

But nothing will compare to what they have planned when the board the plane for Cuba in February 2025.

It’s an idea they have been tossing around for a few months, and once they received confirmation and commitments from the team, they started pushing ahead with the logistics.”
