The wait is almost over.

On Friday, the Terriers headed to the airport to catch a flight to Florida for their annual spring training trip. It’ll be the first time the teams have hit the field since the fall.

Aside from getting outside for practice and game action, the trip provides an opportunity for players to play in front of college coaches and recruiters.

The 12U to 15U teams will be competing in the RussMatt tournament.

The 16U and 17U teams are set to play games against Siena Heights University, Thomas College, Mitchell University, Central College, Utica University, A3 Academy and Albertus Magnus College.

All games are being played in the Orlando area.

Players and coaches return on March 14.

Fun fact: Two Terrier alumni will be squaring off in nearby Vero Beach when outfielder Keegan O’Hearn and the University of Michigan take on outfielder Cameron Chee-Aloy and the University of Illinois in a three-game series from March 7 to 9
