Over the years I have met many driven, successful coaches in Canada.

David Quattrociocchi is one.
As well, over the years I’ve read and met many successful authors, scribes and writers.
Like Milt Dunnell, Michael Farber, Gerry Fraley, Jay Greenberg, Scotty Morrison, Bob Nightengale, Martin Noble, Jim O’Leary, Wayne Parrish, Dave Perkins, Ken Rosenthal, Serge Touchette, Tim Wharnsby, Mark Whicker and others -- you know who you are.
Quattrociocchi falls into this group as well.
Now, the double duty man is out with his fourth book “The Spirit of Canadian Baseball.” It’s a children’s book based on a poem that’s billed on Amazon as
The Spirit of Canadian Baseball” is a captivating poem that beautifully captures the essence of Canada’s rich baseball history. Through lyrical verses, it traces the journey from the humble beginnings in Beachville to the iconic moments in the Hall of Fame. With vivid imagery, it delves into the untold tales beneath Lake Ontario’s waters, the triumphs of legends like Babe Ruth and Jackie Robinson and the adoration for teams like the Montreal Expos and the Toronto Blue Jays. From the groundbreaking achievements of the women’s team to the promising young talent in the Junior championships, this poetic tribute celebrates the unity and love that Canada holds for the game of baseball.”
The art work is eye-grabbing and the purchase was eye-catching for all three of my grandchildren (ages: 13, eight and six) and children of all ages.
The other works by Quattrociocchi “A SUMMER TO REMEMBER: Ontario’s Journey To Gold At The 2022 Canada Summer Games” when Ontario won in Niagara Falls; “Beyond Limits: Poems of Courage and Resilience for People with Disabilities” and “The Art of Defence: A Collection of Poems Celebrating the Beauty of Baseball’s Defensive Positions.”
Quattrociocchi played for coach Gary Wilson and the Ontario Blue Jays. He coached the Ontario Youth Team from 2018-2022 and won the Canada Cup in 2018.
Currently coaching at Sheridan College, he has coached the Vaughan Vikings, West Toronto, Toronto All-Stars, Team Toronto and the York Pioneers.
He earned the Baseball Ontario President’s Award in 2022 and coached four Toronto City champs.
He played for the York Pioneers, GTA Stars, Toronto Maple Leafs and the Etobicoke Rangers.
He also for Team Canada in 2003 at the World Baseball Challenge in Grand Forks, B.C., facing top teams such as Chinese Taipei, Cuba, Australia, and USA. South of the border he was with the Texarkana Junior College Eagles and the Northwestern State Demons.
