Quebec’s Mr. Baseball

The college season has not yet started and Quebec pitcher Conor Angel has already been honoured.

Indeed, the slender right-hander from Lachine, Que., was selected to the Sun Belt conference all-star preseason team by Perfect Game.

The expectations of the Ragin’ Cajuns of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for the Quebec pitcher are very high for the 2021 season. Angel is considered among the best prospects of his conference.

Angel, a former Baseball Canada Academy (ABC) hurler, was the starting pitcher for the Cajuns’ season opener in 2020.

In the season cut short due to COVID-19, Angel compiled a 1-2 record with an earned-run average of 3.74. In under 22 innings of work, the former LaSalle Cardinal registered no less than 26 strikeouts.

According to Perfect Game, Angel is one of the Ragin ‘Cajuns players who should be selected in the 2021 draft. Perfect Game rates Angels as fourth on its list of the top 26 prospects in the conference.
