COACHES COMMENTS:

The T-birds struggled this weekend, dropping three of four to the Corban Warriors in Salem, Oregon. Niall Windeller was stellar again in Game 1 as the Birds held a 2-1 lead through six innings only to see the Warriors bust the game open with eight in the seventh and didn’t look back. In Saturday’s first game the two teams went back and forth, but another big inning late in the game (six runs in the eighth) by the Warrior offence gave them the victory in the first game of the double header. The T-birds struggles continued in the second game, falling 12-2 to close out the day.

With three losses on the weekend already the T-Birds turned to James Bradwell to right some wrongs, and leave Salem on a positive note. The sophomore did not disappoint, putting together his best performance in Blue and Gold. Bradwell went the distance giving up only one run while striking out eight. The offence chipped in with four runs as a better collective effort gave the Birds a victory in the final game of the series.

The Thunderbirds have a BYE weekend coming up but will play Seattle University on Saturday. Game time has been changed to 6 PM in Seattle.

Jr Catcher Zach Prisciak suffered a leg injury last weekend against LC State and was out this weekend. He is recovering and hopes to return soon.
