Official Baseball Manitoba News Release

Baseball Manitoba is excited to welcome Brendan Harz (Oakbank, Man.) as the newest member of our office staff.

Stepping into the role of operations manager, he brings a wealth of enthusiasm, expertise, and dedication to the game of baseball within the province.

To ensure a smooth transition, he will be training alongside long-time Baseball Manitoba operations manager (formerly titled executive assistant) Brenda Horz, who has been a vital part of the organization for more than two decades.

"After more than 24 years with Baseball Manitoba, it's been an honour to contribute to the growth of the game and the community. While I’m stepping away, the memories and the relationships I've built will always remain close to my heart. I'm grateful for the incredible experiences and the opportunity to help shape the future of baseball in this province," said Horz

With her extensive experience, Horz will be sharing invaluable insights and knowledge over the next six months, helping to set Harz up for success in this important role.

Harz officially joins the Baseball Manitoba staff full-time this week and will spend the coming months learning the ins and outs of the organization. This training period will allow for a seamless transition as Horz prepares for her well-earned retirement in early August 2025. Through this process, Harz will gain firsthand experience in managing operations, ensuring continuity and excellence in supporting our baseball community.

"I am excited to join the team at Baseball Manitoba! With years of experience as both a player and coach, I understand the significant role Baseball Manitoba plays in the community. I look forward to supporting the growth of baseball at all levels and collaborating with a dedicated team to help the sport continue to thrive in Manitoba," said Harz.

As operations manager, Harz will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day functions that keep our organization running efficiently. This includes office management, financial/recording keeping, coordinating events, and ensuring that players, parents, coaches, umpires, and volunteers have the resources and support they need to succeed.
