CALDWELL, Idaho. - It was a great road weekend for the blue and gold as the heavy-hitting UBC Thunderbirds took down the College of Idaho Yotes for the fourth time in three days, completing their second weekend sweep of the young conference season with a 15-6 victory on Sunday.

It was another display of offensive dynamism for UBC, led by Jonny McGill (Richmond, B.C.) who went 4-for-4 with a homer and four RBIs. Trent Lenihan (White Rock, B.C.) added a home run and three RBIs, while Kellen Bourne(Calgary, Alta.) blasted a two-run shot in the sixth inning. In total, 15 runs from 10 different players crossed the plate on the back of 19 hits.

The T-Birds have now notched 10 or more runs in seven of their 12 outings against Cascade Collegiate Conference opposition. That's after they did so just 12 times in the entirety of last season.

Lenihan got the party started on just the third at-bat of the game, smacking a double to left field that scored David Krahn (Langley, B.C.). Aaron Marsh (Nanaimo, B.C.) then stepped up to the plate and hit a double of his own to bring in two more runs.

The Yotes managed to cut the lead down to one, but the T-Birds roared far ahead in the middle portion of the game, scoring 12 runs between the third and sixth innings. That period of dominance started with Lenihan's deep shot, followed by RBI singles from McGill and Marsh and a sacrifice fly from Mitchell Middlemiss (Chilliwack, B.C.) that made it 9-2.

After another pair of Idaho runs in the bottom half of the fourth, Kyle Yip (Calgary, Alta.) and McGill launched back-to-back homers in the fifth, followed by Bourne's home run in the sixth along with an RBI double from Middlemiss. That was more than enough to secure the series sweep, as the Thunderbirds outscored the Yotes 51-17 over the four-game series.

Daniel Orfaly (White Rock, B.C.) got his first win of the season on the mound, while Dylan Myttenar (Vancouver, B.C.) and Alex Lee (Burnaby, B.C.) gave good work in relief, allowing just four hits combined over the final four innings.

With the win, the T-Birds remain tied with Lewis-Clark State and Bushnell at the top of the CCC standings. Next up is a home series against Eastern Oregon, with a pair of Saturday and Sunday doubleheaders. They take to the diamond at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. (P.T.) on March 15th, and at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. (P.T.) on March 16 at Tourmaline West Stadium.
